Why June Predictions Didn’t Fully Match Today’s Bulletin

Our June post projected Europe to reach ~25k by August, but State set the line at 22k. Three factors explain the gap:

  • Higher-than-expected June issuance: EU posts cleared a larger share of ready cases than anticipated, leaving fewer visas for August scheduling.
  • Derivative surge: Average family size for EU interviews in May/June rose from 1.87 to 2.04, consuming quota faster than raw case counts indicated.
  • Embassy capacity: Warsaw and Frankfurt hit scheduling ceilings, prompting KCC to hold numbers back to avoid over-allocation.

Elsewhere the forecasts held: Africa landed at the low end of our 50-55k window, Asia hit the 11k target, and SA/OC moved almost point-for-point.

Overall DV-2025 Case Status Snapshot

Where the 130k-plus DV-2025 cases now stand:

  • Issued: 30,540 cases
  • Ready: 15,974 cases
  • Refused: 1,851 cases
  • Refused 221(g): 2,948 cases
  • Administrative Processing: 198 cases

Observations & Advice for Selectees

  • Africa: With a 5k jump, virtually all numbers below 50k will interview; high-50k cases should watch the September bulletin closely.
  • Asia: Iran/Nepal caps still bind. If you’re under 11k, ensure your DS-260 is complete and documents are scanned.
  • Europe: The cautious 22k suggests a final jump, likely to 24–26k, in September. High-20k cases need a backup plan.
  • Oceania: Slow but steady; expect “current” in September if issuance pace holds.
  • SA & Caribbean: Now only 2,600, virtually current. Expect full current next month.
  • North America (Bahamas): Remains current all year.

Final Thoughts

DV-2025 is in the home stretch. Africa and Asia look poised to clear, Europe faces one last sprint, and the smaller regions should all be current by September 30. If your case is below the predicted September line, keep your email and spam folders checked daily—2NLs can arrive with little notice. High-number cases, particularly in Europe, should prepare contingency plans but stay hopeful: late-cycle jumps are common once State finalises no-shows and visa reallocations.

Hello could I possibly get another chance of becoming current iam Case number AF202561733

    • Collins,

Africa’s final cut-off for DV-2025 is 58 500 in the September bulletin. With AF61 7xx you’re above that and the program ends 30 September, so there won’t be another chance this year. You’d have to try the next lottery.

  2. Israel says:

My case number is 2025oc3kxx, what chances do I have, still waiting to schedule for an interview

    • Hello,

An interview this year is impossible unless the State Department releases an unlikely last-minute update.

  3. Olivier says:

Est ce que ce sont des derniers case number qui viennent de faire sortir ça 😭

  5. Olivier says:

Salut mon case number est AF755XX les numéros peuvent sortir jusqu’à mon case number ?? 🥺

    • The cutoff numbers are moving forward, but reaching AF755XX is very uncertain, as that’s a very high number.

  6. Heads up! The August 2025 Visa Bulletin is expected to be released by July 19, 2025. Stay tuned for updates!

    • Alb says:

Is a good news or not ? Will be a big jump for regions ? Why this year will be so late ?

    • Dmitrii says:

Yeah, it is interesting what this means, good or bad, or meaning nothing.
We all hope for the last jump, which will be bigger than before. (at least before)
But this delay can mean they don’t know how many visas will be left or what?

    • Yeah, this kind of delay happens almost every year at this stage. It doesn’t necessarily mean good or bad news; it’s mostly about the State Department trying to match up how many visas are still available with what the embassies can realistically handle before the deadline. There are still a lot of visas left unissued, especially in Africa and Europe, but the real challenge is embassy capacity and last-minute scheduling. So, the delay probably just means they’re trying to maximize the final round of interviews, not that there’s a problem or a guarantee of a huge jump. Let’s hope for a positive move, but it all comes down to what embassies can fit in these last weeks.

  7. Serdar says:

Hello sir. My case number is EU32xxx. Do i have a chance?

    • Hello,

While there’s always a small chance of a surprise jump in September, the odds of EU32XXX becoming current are very low at this point.

    • Auntie P says:

Hello 👋. Nairobi embassy Kenya locked up cases from 11k to 50k,no interviews conducted since January, is it possible for the embassy to schedule September as a last minute rush 😢

  8. Tonio says:

Hello, do you know at what time will be released the VB today ?

    • Hello,

The timing of the Visa Bulletin release is a great example of how U.S. immigration processes often appear consistent but can change without warning. While the “second Tuesday” pattern works as a general reference most months, in reality, the State Department can release the bulletin anywhere between the 8th and 12th, or occasionally even outside that range. We’re closely monitoring for the official August Visa Bulletin, and as soon as it’s published, we’ll post our detailed analysis and key takeaways here. Stay tuned!

  9. Johnathan Lloyd says:

Do you have any idea why Dublin and Frankfurt didn’t send any 2NLs in June?

  10. Beth Litunda says:

Am DV 2025 selectees case no. AF20XXX when am I likely to be scheduled for an Interview?

    • Beth,

Your case number (AF20XXX) became current in January 2025 according to the Visa Bulletin. Did you submit your DS-260 form last year? If you haven’t submitted it or submitted it late, that could explain the delay. Also, check your Entrant Status Check (ESC) portal at https://dvprogram.state.gov/ESC/ to see if you missed any important notifications or interview instructions. If your DS-260 wasn’t submitted in time or if any required steps are missing, that might have affected your scheduling. If you’re unsure, you may want to contact KCC or seek help from a qualified immigration professional.
